This category of service helps your family member with basic daily tasks, also known as Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), that may require a little extra support. Although the focus of these services is physical assistance, our home health aides are compassionate and attentive to each client’s emotional needs:
- Help with mobility in and outside of the home.
- Oral and personal hygiene
- Dressing and grooming
- Help with toileting.
- Outpatient pre- and post-op assistance
- Bathing: Bathroom and bathing assistance – showering, bathtub assistance, bed-bath, or hair washing.
- Grooming including dressing, hair care, and oral hygiene.
- Dressing: Total or partial assistance with dressing
- Remind clients to take medications as needed at appropriate times.
- Transfers: Assist client bed to wheelchair and/or reverse in/out of shower or bathtub, use of mechanical lift or transfer board may be necessary.
- Positioning may also necessitate lifting.
- Toileting: Assist client getting on/off bedpan, commode or toilet; diapering
- Exercise: Assist client with exercise equipment and/or range of motion exercises.
- Laundering: Assistance with laundry as needed.
- Environment: Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment through light housekeeping including changing bed linens, cleaning client’s quarters; vacuuming, cleaning kitchen and bathrooms.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and serves food for clients following special prescribed diets, and if necessary, feeding the client.
- Doctor visits: Accompany to hospital, clinic, and therapy visits.
